This image is from the famous artist Vincent Van Gogh. This painting is one of his many famous paintings that he made, known as “Café Terrace at night”. It is an open painting where we can see the bright stars in the sky and the distant shops of the piazza. When we first look at the painting our eyes directly goes to the shinny yellow restaurant. After that we see the contrast of the bright yellow colour with the dark blue sky and the shinny stars. The yellow shop is the “Café Terrace” where we can see tables outside and the waitress giving the order to the customers. It seems to be spiring time because of the clean sky with the shinney stars and people sitting outside. This gives us the impression that the weather is fine. Also, people wear long sleeves, where even though the weather is fine and youcan see outdoors, it still has that slightly cold feeling that winter leaves.
Moreover, we see a couple ready to enter the “Café Terrace” and a woman or child (it doesn’t make it clear what sex it is) passing by the café. Only the “Café Terrace” seems to be open at that time, where it is the only one in the square that has people and the lights are open.
The ground is made of rocks, where the rocks are darks at close and gets lighter at the back. There are solid lines in the painting.
The painting “Café Terrace at night” uses all the techniques. The use of the light bright colour with the contrast of the dark colour, the event where people are sitting and ordering and people enttering the café.
