This is a postcard and it was given to me on my birthday from my roommate in October. It was the first card that I got when I first came to here, in England, and I will never loose it. It is an open picture and it has some words written on it. It says: ‘God bless you on your birthday’. By these words, the artist but also my friend who gave me this postcard wishes me to have a great birthday but also God to bless me with goods. Those words for me are very important and especially by someone who you only know few days.

Nevertheless, the picture shows a half valley with a bridge, a river with large rocks and water running quickly downwards. It seems that it rained, and we understand this from the background clouds, where there is no sun, from the wet soil that we can see at the left besides the bridge and from the green grass. We can also understand that it rained from the bridge that is quite fluid.

To conclude, the reason that Christina, my roommate who gave me this postcard, gave it to me on my birthday to remember the first days that we are here in England (that’s why this postcard is from an English valley) away from home and how we spend the first days together.
